Good News + Stationary Haul + New Read + Bad Spending Habits

As an upcoming college freshman, I've been sweating all the small stuff about money, classes, and well, MONEY. So, finally receiving news back about my financial aid money coming through was definitely a happy scream-and-dance-around-like-crazy moment. I won't go into a lot of detail with the amount, but basically my tuition for this fall was paid for with FA money and I received a direct deposit into my bank account for the sum from the Pell Grant and State University Grant left over! The amount definitely helps cover any textbook expenses, gas money, and other miscellaneous purchases I'll make.

All of these were purchased from an eBay seller named iheartkawaii!

I've been in such a good mood to get back to school (hopefully this lasts for a while) that I've been, perhaps overboard, in buying school supplies. Lots.. and lots.. of school supplies... Most of which are not really necessities... mostly just for aesthetics, however! I've come to hypnotize myself realize that I work better when my work looks cute. :-)

Page flags from Daiso - Currently using the frog ones :-)

Page flags are definitely helpful even though I use them sparingly because I don't like to run out :'-)

Bought on Amazon for $6.99
I've been trying to read as much I could with the time allotted before school starts and so far I haven't been very efficient :-( But I am going to start reading I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan with my little sister. She raved about how much she liked reading Summer of Fear also by Lois Duncan and I wanted to read a work by her as well!

I also went ahead and bought an Infinite album that's been omitted from my collection. It has my two of my favorite Infinite tracks on there of all time: BTD and Hysterie!

Lately I've been receiving packages in the mail like crazy... My online shopping game has been just too strong and it doesn't help that I just got a huge addition in my bank account and that my Amazon Prime trial is only just a TRIAL so I feel like I have to buy what I can and fast! LOL. It's nice that buying things online is easy, but it is extremely dangerous for someone like me who has like 2% of the amount of self control and thoughtfulness a healthy person should have. Case in point, I hastily bought a pair of shoes at 1am and ordered the wrong size because I am careless :-) Tbh I don't need new shoes!! This has got to stop...

As a solution to help myself open my eyes to my spending habits, I've begun to write down everything I buy + price in my daily planner and totaling it at the end of the week. It's effective and kinda sad to say that I didn't realize how much and how fast I've been just buying things that I don't absolutely need. So, note to self, SLOW DOWN AND THINK, WOMAN!!!!

Anyways, I've been using my Wacom Intuos Tablet these past few days and I wish I had gotten it sooner! I think I'm going to start drawing people I know and Instagram mutuals and randomly sending it to them. :-)

Thanks for reading my rambles ~

xoxo

[Review] Zebra Mildliner WKT7 - 5C

Something that never made sense to me were highlighters with ink so dark it causes more strain to try and read the text beneath. I'm calling you out, Sharpie high"light"ers... Upon searching through the reviews for pastel / mild colored highlighters, I stumbled upon these babies! I tried to find the best deal for these markers and they retail for $6 - $9. I ended up purchasing mine from Amazon for only $6.80! Since I have an Amazon prime account, 2-day shipping was free. Amazingly though, I placed the order on July 31st and it was delivered via Amazon Logistics from their California warehouse to my house in ONE DAY, August 1st. That's insane!
Product description: "The Mildliner highlighter features a unique color that shows up softly on paper. It has just the right shade to attract your attention, but won't overwhelm you with bright fluorescence. The highlighter is double-sided with a broad and fine tip."

The packaging it comes in is made of a really sturdy plastic that looks super sleek and compact enough to even throw in your pencil pouch to keep them safe!

The particular pack I have comes with these specific five colors:

The photos don't do the Mild Pink, Orange and Yellow much justice... but they are a very watered down fluorescent color that does appear very nicely on paper! A downside that is also not photographed well is that this highlighter formula does slightly smear dried gel ink. It's not an extremely noticeable smear, but I really love using my Pentel gel pens to take notes or write, so it is a bummer that the Mildliners aren't smear-proof. :-(

However, I did another test using regular black Bic ballpoint pens and there was no smearing!

Another useful aspect about these Mildliners are that they are dual-tipped with a bold side for highlighting and a fine tip that is useful for underlining or even using as a pen/marker.

Overall, I would recommend these liners to those who like organizing their notes / readings / writings via color-coding! These subtlety but effectively highlight what you need and are so cute to carry around in your pencil pouch. :-)
